Intel plans to introduce anti-theft technology for laptops
Intel has plans to introduce new laptops based on anti-theft technology. This they are planning to introduce during the fourth quarter of this year. Other than this brief introduction, no other news has been released so far.
It is named as Intel Anti-Theft Technology which will be added to the Intel based laptops with Centrino vPro processors.
If stolen, this new technology will lock up the system and even the disk and hence preventing people from accessing your important data and hence providing additional protection to your important info on you laptop.
Although this technology cannot recover your laptop back but it can protect your important data stored in your laptop. This is after the recent and many instances where many of the important data of people and bigger organizations were misused once the laptop was stolen and the most recent such occurrence was that Boeing’s pilferage of social security numbers of their customers after the theft of their laptop.
This is targeted mainly for the IT managers who have been finding it hard to protect data particularly when it comes to stolen laptops and this new technology from Intel might just solve this ever increasing menace all together.
