The laptop major Dell recently launched its new laptop range with Blu-ray disc. What’s more surprising is the fact that the price of this Blu-ray laptop from Dell is just under $900 considering the cost of the Blu-ray disc drive itself. It is named as Inspiron 1525 and is considered to be cheapest in the market with the configuration mentioned.
After the war between HDD and Blu-ray got over and with Blu-ray winning it, now this is the first time that a laptop has been introduced with Blu-ray disc drive in it and that too really cheap. This could really be the start of a new series with Dell launching its very own laptop with Blu-ray and other major laptop makers will follow suite and will start launching laptops with Blu-ray disc drive in it.
This Blu-ray disc can read the regular Blu-ray disc and is wholly backwards compatible. It, apart from reading the Blu-ray disc, can write the regular DVDs and CDs and read them too. There is also an additional option of fitting it with Blu-ray burner but with extra cost.
It also comes with a regular 15.4 inch HD and 720 pixels resolution screen and all the features that the regular Inspiron series has.

This comes after Panasonic introduced its rugged laptop named as Panasonic Toughbook CF-52. It seems like major laptop manufacturers are staring join this bandwagon of creating rugged laptops, which will not only be useful for those in the field of rough and tough jobs or professions but also those who have butter fingers who tend to drop their laptops or notebooks frequently causing damage to it. This laptop, Latitude XFR D630, could indeed be a boon for such people too.
